As a representative of Suzuki Sport and his own Team Monster Sport, Nobuhiro Tajima, a racing driver better known as "Monster Tajima", has competed in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb since 1988. In 1955 he competed on two-engined Suzuki Escudo and firstly won overall. But from 2006 and for the next 5 years, he delighted his fans with a great series of 6 victories one after another lon the "Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Pikes Peak Special".

The body of the Suzuki SX4 car, on which the «Monster Tajima» competed in the unlimited class in 2014, was a spatial frame made of steel pipes, equipped with massive rear wings and sheathed with kevral panels. CX4 can rightfully be considered unique, since only the headlights and the front grille remained from the original one.

V6 turbo engine - «Suzuki H27A» with a volume of 3071 cc installed in the central part of its chassis. Thanks to a great team, its performance has been brought to 910 hp/886.9 Nm. With a total weight of 1090 kg, the specific power of the machine reaches 1.20 kg/hp.

MONSTER SPORT SUZUKI SX4 PIKES PEAK SPECIAL - 2006

The Pike Peaks competition is a time trial with a total distance of 19.9 km and has 156 turns. The start of the race begins at an altitude of 2862 m, and finish at 4301 m. The average slope on the track is 7%, and the vertical drop reaches 1439 m. Competing in the final, Tajima's SX4 had problems with the hydraulic pump and power steering. However, despite this, the "Monster Tajima" still won the overall standings and, moreover, firstly in the racing’s history, he overcame the 10-minute barrier with an unbelievable result of 9 minutes 51.278 sec.
