HKS Co.,Ltd. has a head office in Japanese Shizuoka Prefecture, Fujinomiya. "Stable" develops, manufactures and sells modified sets of spare parts for internal combustion engines. Engineer Hasegawa Hiroyuki (Yamaha Motor Company founder), in collaboration with Giochi Kitagawa founded HKS in year 1973.
The initial capital for beginning of the work was provided by Sigma Automotive, from the first letters of the investors and made up the name, abbreviation - HKS (H - Hasegawa, K - Kitagawa, S - Sigma). The work began with the refinement of the internal combustion engine running on gasoline, in the old barn of a former dairy farm. The main task was to create high-performance power facilities and spare parts that the origin manufacturers themselves did not want or we’re not able to make.
In 74-th year, Hasegawa designed, developed and assembled the first successful turbocharged kit for passenger cars.
Since then, the development and improvement of turbochargers and their kits has become HKS' main focus. Few years later, they will create the first turbineturbo timer and boost controller accessible to the average buyer. In the end, the HKS international dealer network has expanded to Asia, Oceania the USA and EU. In the California US state, a subsidiary was founded - HKS USA, there are similar ones in Thai (HKS Thailand) and United Kingdom (HKS EU).
The main research and production centers are located in the Land of the Rising Sun - Japan, at the Mountain Fuji foot.
